2. Concept Analytical Table in preparation for assessments

Concept Analytical Table in preparation for assessments

You have summarised the intertextual connections between the source text and the adapted text. Hopefully you have a clear idea about how the adapted text has been influenced by the source text in terms of ideas and perspectives, techniques and characterisation.
Now it’s time to select relevant evidence to support your argument. Make sure to consider macro and micro techniques including composition and structure, voice, characterisation.
How is the audience positioned to achieve the authorial intent?

What do I do?

You will find 2 sets of tables below; one for the source text and one for the adapted text. Both tables should revolve around 1 key idea like below and explore the resonances and dissonances in both texts.
When selecting techniques, list them chronologically and make sure that they all link back to the main idea. Consider what would help you when you are writing an essay.
Complete at least one idea (two tables) with your tutor so you know exactly what to do. You may need to go back to your previous notes. These tables will be your final preparation notes for the HSC so complete them thoroughly.
