Consider how the responder is positioned. Is the responder encouraged to feel part of the collective identity?

1.      What individual identities are presented and how?

a.   Name the character, identity the ‘identity’, think about ‘how’ the identity is presented

2.      What collective identities are presented and how?

3.      What are some cultural/social identity markers in the text?

4.      What is the significance of language in the text?

5.      Identify the ‘cultural worlds’ in the text.

6.      What cultural perspectives are presented?

7.      How does the text affirm, ignore, reveal, challenge or disrupt cultural prejudices?
