How do the individual texts relate to the rubric?

#1 What is identity?

Gender, Class, School, Physical appearance, Political belief, Ethnicity/race/heritage, Religious belief, Language

#2 What are some types of identities?

Individual identity, Collective identity (Australian Identity, class, family, community), Personal identity, Social identity, Cultural identities

#3 What is culture? How does one’s identity develop?

Identity develops through culture, social practices, beliefs, values in a community of people. Culture is the way people see, do, understand and communicate things.

#4 How can identity and culture be represented through writing? How can we represent identity?

Perspective, choice of words, values, how the audience is positioned. We can represent identity through language. In collective identities, when we share language (verbal or non-verbal), we have a shared identity.
